sparkycrew 22
Hy guys, had my prosport two months,in the begining it was great but things have been getting worse,i cant group tight one hole groups that fit under a 5p piece like i used to,have worked really hard trying to be consistent, but nothing seems work and to be honest its not the rifle i was promised it would be,i know iam a newbie but when you have shot well in the beginning after two months i cant hold a group inside 1.5 inches,i have cleaned the barrel tried different pellets, started washing and lubing pellets which has tightened the group slightly, iam now thinking the scope could be at fault, its a nikko sterling 4-12x50 ao ir,it was on the rifle when i got second hand, the rifle was only a month old,but the scope looks older and the crosshairs were noticable out of alignment with the barrel,i get the feeling the previous owner sold the rifle with that old scope he couldnt set up right, but how would i know, all i can say is it looks ok apart from minor scratches to the body, doesnt hold zero very well, ive allways got the caps off adjusting a couple clicks either way even when iam shooting from the same position, and i found out today after setting zero again at 25m,it shot 1.5 inches left at 15meters please can anyone help its driving me crazy and not a pleasure anymore regards nick Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
try a new scope mate that doesn't sound too good.. just wonder why it was accurate but isn't anymore?! Quote Link to post
BenjaminCadd 109
Sounds like the scope to be honest shifting zero all the time, have you chronoed the rifle check that its firing consistently, also if its winding you up all the time whilst shooting you will never get a good group! secretagentmole 1,701
You have got the mounts the right way round? You are using an arrestor pin? You have tightened the mounts up? Might sound like stupid questions but sometimes you check these things and find out that you have made a horrendous mistake, happens to the best of us (a gun shop put mounts on my Stingray the wrong way round, did not use the arrestor pin - well they could not really could they? Shook itself backwards off the action)! Quote Link to post
sparkycrew 22
OK with AA field pellets over 20 shots the extreme spread was only fps, washing and lubing pellets has smoothed out the rifle and tightened the group,i dont get daft flyers its a one piece mount with an arrester pin,i have had the scope and mount off to clean and adjust and try differant positions but iam meticulas in checking and refitting, the clamps were tightened down gently and uniformly, Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
try the scope on a different gun .[pcp] shake scope see if it makes a noise like something is loose inside .check the turrets are tight and any screws holding them are tight..check your mounts are tight ,make sure you hold your head in the same position every time you shoot.
