markha 99
Your missing the most important and highly favoured bullet! 53gr V-Max. Very high BC! Enough said Forget swaged stuff, benchrest, F-class and long range varmint shooters just use high quality off the shelf bullet heads. Also try the Sierra dome points, used them in the past for easy 1/2" groups at 55gr. Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
Yeah right, where to start with that. without looking back at the previous post i will asume that i did`nt mention that my barrel is a 1:12 twist and i dont want to use anything lighter than 50g so thats V-Max out of the picture, also BT ammo is no good for what i want. the reason i got someone to knock some up for me is i wanted to find a good weight over 50g closer to 55g that works well with the powder. had i have gone out and brought a box of each weight it would have cost a few pennies. another reason is that swaged bullets can be made with built in quailities that you cant buy over the counter, not that, that was why i used them. 1/2 inch group is a failed load for me, when i test my loads i do the same as most homeloaders and turn into an ammo tart. 1/2 inch at 100 just dont do it for me. But with all that said i have found that i can get the 50g to the same standard as 55g but with more powder, so its the 55g that wins out, unfortunately i cant get them at the moment but i have loads of 50g, sod`s law.
