Macca......yes you did, since I picked her up as a pup from you and being my first Saluki she has taught me so much about the breed, wish I had had one years ago.....and money well spent as far as I'm concerned. Just wish she would come in to season during the summer instead of November/December though!

I know this thread has been done many times over now but was this dog (Khan Jihad) bred of "Dave Birds" white dog "TOR of DARTMOOR" pictured below

 

That pic was taken in 1987 in Daves house the night his bitch Saluki/greyhound had her pups,see below

 

can't really see how anything bred from her if thats the litter I'm thinking of can be pure saluki,they were his only dogs about that time,the lad pictured below was his good mate at that time,he was from Essex if my memory serves me right,some one on here will know him and he can tell you the rest as it seems many do not know the full story on this white dog,WM

heard tor of Dartmoor was a good dog and left some decent ones to

I thought Tor was a dark dog, not white? as seen below.

That dark dog in the pic was a pup born that night out of the 2 dogs pictured in his house,I watched them being born and they were not full saluki,I may have the name wrong as its a long time ago now,was "TOR" born in 1987 then,my lad was born that year and I was on holiday down there with my dogs either june/july of that year,what was the white dog called then ?? WM

That is definitely Tor, the others were lurchers bred off him.

Tor was out of Prince of Dartmoor to Sunstream Kizzy Whitney bred by Mick Taylor out of Ringsfield Pharaoh ( the original "Fred" ) and Kizzy.

 

Khan goes back to him two ways.

 

Vance put his pharaoh x kizzy bitch "Girl" to the Tepe Gawra dog Farrah to get Ash, Khan's sire who I saw run many times.

 

Chris Ps bitch ( Talk of the Town aka Nelly ) was off Boozer's Fred, Pharaoh's son,

Her dam's grand sire was Tor of Dartmoor.
