gnasher16 30,425
yeah because its never happened before has it !.......... 17k crowds before Grant,s out..........low 12/13,s before Roeders out.........last night was actually 11k as City brought good support apparently...........but hey you know the club better than me. Course the tie was gone.....but if you give one cup competition away they got to expect a reaction for the other.....and they got it.

Thats a great strategy when your looking to move into the 60,00 seater Olympic Stadium in a couple of years, FFS Cheers, D.
gnasher16 30,425
If im not wrong a " strategy " is a plan of action to achieve a long term goal............. I dont know more than about 4 West Ham fans who actually want to go to the Olympic Stadium.......so tough titty !
keepdiggin 9,561
It would be shit if west ham went to the Olympic stadium. Upton park (Boleyn ground) is a great stadium with lots of tradition.
WILF 47,495
I know Gnash don't agree with me one bit, but heart aside for one minute, my own personal opinion is that we are a great club with tremendous support......with a stadium like that to walk prospective players upto, well who knows what we can achieve. Any player in the world is going to look at that stadium in the best city in the world and say to himself "this is where I want to play".........as long as its not kick and rush shit !! Lol lol

Lol lol The new stadium will impair on the atmosphere Wilfredo, athletic designed stadiums are that way on to rid crowd noise so not to drown tannoys....modern purpose built football stadium have metalwork aprons within the roof apron that bounce sound back down. There are other ways to do it but they dont meet cat1 stadia for fully unrestricted any part of the ground viewing. It's problematic and costly to re-configure
dytkos 17,819
Even 25,000 in a 60,000 seater stadium would be piss poor atmosphere wise, look at the "Stadium of Shite" LOL Cheers, D.

Against Huddersfield and Yeovil ?........Thats the sort of teams we are going to be competing against Wilf.....atmosphere will be swallowed up......we,ll start attracting tourist fans..........ive said for a few years now i think it will be my cue to call it a day and just be a telly fan and i know a lot of my generation who say the same.......sure we,ll all be replaced no problem and the club will go in its own direction.......i,ll be claret and blue till im in a box but away from The Boleyn nothing will be the same for me. Fair play mate, I understand and I also know most west ham fans will feel the same. It's just my opinion, trying to be realistic........and f**k it, lets have some Russian billionaire pick us up and let's have our day in the sun..........if those wankers down Chelsea can have it then then there's a lot of blokes down the hammers like yourself who deserve a season or two of dream stuff after 30 or 40 years of roller coaster stuff But you won't get that where we are in my opinion mate, forgetting nostalgia for a second, the area is a pisshole and we are boxed in.........not exactly an attractive prospect. We all love the club, we love the sites and sounds and smells and grotty surrounding, but that's the fans and ultimately fans ain't gonna move the club forward........only investors and players can do that. gnasher16 30,425
I know im not the trendy type of fan clubs like Chelsea and City are attracting these days im a dinosaur when it comes to football i know that.....i dont expect or even really crave wild success and trophies sure i want to win individual games like anyone does but i dont kid myself im sure you dont either Wilf.....football for me over the years has been about so much more than players on the pitch its been about the crossed Hammers, your pals, the days out,the traditions and everything else that go,s with it.....i wouldnt trade that for watching players ive never heard of winning trophies for a club i barely recognise.....its a shame the way the games gone in many ways but times move on i suppose and same as anything we either have to move with them or get off if we dont like it
