Elliott 436
Hi Adam, do you think your left eye might be dominant? Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Im predominantly left handed, I write and eat with.. But I shoot, play golf and guitar and probably loads more stuff right handed. Weird. You want to see me making stuff with timber, looks like Im trying to wrestle it, trying to find the right position for a left hand cut I cant write with my right and I cant shoot with my left though. 2 Quote Link to post
fret78 87
Me to. I'm right handed but left eye dominant, decided to try some right handed shooting and I'm much better. so dominant eye doesn't matter that much when using a scope, whichever eye see's clearer I guess is the better one to shoot with. And it can only be a bonus to be able to use either hand/eye. Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
For the past 36 years I shot left handed taught my self to right handed and now most of my shooting is right handed Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Hi Adam, do you think your left eye might be dominant? not particularly mate, we get tested for it in the military to determine what rifle sight we need Only thing i can think of is i have an old injury to my left shoulder and when im in my normal right handed shooting position the rifle isnt supported by my left side as well as it could be ... or ive picked up so many bad shooting habbits over the years on my right side Quote Link to post

Lewis Ste 245
I'm right handed writing and throwing but left footed and left handed playing pool and shooting but I'm right eye dominant? I think it's the fact my right arm is a bit stronger so it makes sence when I'm shooting that my supporting arm is the stronger one. I can shoot right handed but feels more comfortable left handed 2 Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I do everything right handed but I cant shoot right handed for toffee. even holding the rifle right handed just felt wrong! as lewis said aswell my right arm is stronger so better for supporting the weight of the rifle ... and my left eye is dominant so better for looking through the scope. so I can only shoot left handed, especially a springer where hold and head alignment consistency is key.. should have seen my 4 shot group at 35 yards right handed.. literally about 4 times bigger than my left handed groups!! 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Absolutely stuck on left hand side for everything but for throwing something! I throw or bowl a cricket ball right handed and I (used to) play golf right handed. Edit to add: I am totally left-eye dominant. And yet, have shot my Weihrauch air rifles off my right shoulder to make better use of hunting cover and that's a reason why I think roll-over stock combs are not a practical design. No rifle should limit you to just one side only. You have to be able to make the most of your concealment in hunting and that means being able to shoot off your opposite shoulder if needs be.
