I'm a wye man too, never had a double but not too far off.   I normally only fish the same peg on the same stretch all season. I love those summer evenings on the river bank a cuppa tea in one hand

Started fishing my local the river soar for a few carp ended up with one little skimmer in middle of the night so pretty pissed that woke me up lol   So I got all me gear together and drove 20mins

Lodden for me lads. Been baiting a few likely spots that produced top fish last season so hoping the same again. Atb

you could tell us exactly were could you ?:laugh:

Lol its a syndicate mate im only bieng taken on as a guest. Out of interest what is everyone using ? Ive been gifted some top bait courtesy of brian jarret at hinders. Managed a 5.8 chub and a 6lb on a little hour seesion on the keenet last year. A mate swears by "malarky" boilie for chub hes had some top results on it too.

spicy shrimp, crab and mussel any fishy taste- always caught on taff,wye,teme,seven-raja spice, liver b8 work a treat,i use a pellet mix, broken bollie,in pva et bags ;) hemp in my feeders, ;) you ever fished biblins/wyresham raw?atb

drove past a few times  . it think a know the strecht but never fished it .i've fished the belmont and then my old favourite. I should really branch out a bit more but were I go I might only bump in to one other angler a season and thats how I like sometimes.

i'm a big fan of the pva mate makes for good accurate baiting with even better presentation love it.

any one else use pva on the rivers?

I know what you mean about the welsh gf too mate . it's hard work trying to do both. i went last year because the weather and the river being in flood.

Going on the ribble can't wait to get a bend in me rod off a big barbel

been told thats a good river ;)
i don't catch as many off the Ribble as I do off the Severn, but the Ribble definitely produces bigger fish for me.Pellet and Groundbait in a feeder for me but if the river is up I use dynamite monster crab boilies and a Pva mesh bag.Tight Lines

Well I've managed to sort it just right,

It's my anniversary tomorrow but I've taken the wife away tonight, nice meal and hotel in Bath.. Back tomorrow in time to get the bait and prepare for an early morning jaunt on the Exe... Torn between 2 stretches either the tidal for Chub, dace and roach or the weir fields stretch for big bream, plus the roach and chub...

I love the tidal though, I've had all sorts from mullet and sea trout to near 10lb bream and chub to over 5lb, it's a funny place to fish.....

Love the rivers you can't beat it IMO, ponds have no great appeal to me.

i'm missing a family bbq but it's all about priorities  .

I know what your saying when it comes to ponds mate. a river has so many more things to think about there could be anything out there to go at.
