:wallbash: , breed blind lol, just use the right dog for job and not many pure saluki's are used down there.

all of mine are brought up on small land bushing lamping , marking walls then are run down the fens

Why are you getting frustrated? How much saluki is in your dogs and whats there kill ratio on hares on the fens?

its like putting square blocks into round holes, which one would you like to know the amount of saluki is in them ? ive got two retired dogs and two twelve month old ups, so take your pick

Why didnt you just take a few minutes of your time and explain how much saluki is in each 1 individually and what there kill ratio is? or could you not be bothered! Where abouts in the north east are you from or is that to much trouble to answer.

Makes me go all goose bumpy every time I watch that clip: you just know what the outcome will be. BUT it doesn't fit my description of the word 'coursing' as such. I mean actually working and turning the hare (obviously that's less likely to happen with a sand gazelle) as they do on the fens. I've only seen a few pure Salukis run on the fens, and only one of those really did it for me, really working the hare, whilst the others just ran after them, if you see what I mean.

I've seen too many 'ploddy' one geared Saluki lurchers and its like watching paint dry. OK so they'll catch a hare eventually if it doesn't pipe up or get into cover, but more and more hares do just that as they've learned how to cope with the ploddy dogs.

Give me fast, stamina and brains every time: why I reckon the coursing bred lurchers are the only way to go in this country. Plus they're a damn sight more exciting to watch as well. :clapper:

im not saying the couldnt kill decent hauls on the lamp but what is the ingredient that stops them being able to kill hares regulary daytime? if they can kill 20 on the lamp, why arnt all the daytime lads using them for matching,,there has to be something missing,,,its either speed or stamina..i dont mean this as an argument it would just be nice to put an end to the continuing argument..why cant the collie/minshaw x kill hares regular in daytime???? saluki x can do it daytime and on the lamp....there is a few lads on here that use saluki x for ferreting, lamping ,bushing etc..but how many serious coursing lads are running colllie/minshaw dogs????

A heavy saturated saluki x killing hares into double figures on the lamp! has anyone seen this or got a saluki x what kills daytime hares with ease that can go into double figures regulary on the lamp?
