Be out on the hill at 2 in the morning with a fair walk in ffront of you and a blizzard come in, then you will realise the value of good quality kit All these " my rigger boots, trackies and DPM jack

Boots and gaters

B&Q wellies for a tenner. I bet £200 boots don't last 20 times as long. Pip you really are a fashion victim aren't you?

I have the le chameau chasseur and the hunter balmoral sovereign mate both about £300 a pair and I wear my lowa hunter extreme Gtx everyday I like my wellies for some days and the le chams are used but the hunters are nearly brand new, I'd go for good hi top boots over wellies anyday

Iv never worn the ridgeline over trousers mate 2 guys I go out with have them and the jackets and says they are good bit of kit, I have the deer hunter ram trousers that are the deer tex you said in your first post, good trousers problem is they let in at the zip in heavy heavy rain and you end up walking about feeling like you've pissed yourself lol!! so although good trousers if you were going to get trousers like that I'd get the sealand beaters trousers over the deer tex they are better.

Spot on post, deer tex is pretty good kit just make sure you go for the lighter weight version of whatever has it as deer hunter stuff can be a bit warm

When it comes to kit, always buy the best your budget will allow

Missus got me some seeland wellies, i wouldnt pay £100 for wellies myself but they are very comfy to walk in and are still going strong after 2 years. Ive used chiruca boots for about 8 yrs the first pair i had "hunters" i think wad the model were brilliant lasted years walkin huntin dogs an fishin never leaked an waterproof right to the top, the second pair with built in gaitors were not as good but may have lasted longer if looked after.

Away man, what for, to get covered in shit and mud, ripped with barbed wire? I've had expensive wellies ruined by the sole being punctured off barbed wire. Forget the price, go for comfort and wearability.

Duck dri are the best affordable waterproofs money will buy.

The stuff is bomb proof, nothing fancy and very warm.

Still got a jacket that must be 8 years old plus.

Iv had a load of le chameau wellies, and climbed a fence or 2 and never have I had a sole punctured even when wearing down, I did go for comfort and wearability and IN MY OPINION le chams are the best wellies there is, the hunters were a gift
