the royal welsh showground in builth wells would be a perfect venue, central to a lot more boys imho. purpose built venue, good infastructure, well drained, rail links the whole 9 yards.   Just my o

sunday is the day for the lurcher and terrier men......call in to the edrd tent if your passing............ grand job.

went today very poor turn out why not try different things in main ring

Got to agree the main ring events are good don't get me wrong take my hat off to them but if you went 8 years ago or further back and went today it is exactly the same.

I think they were even struggling to find dogs for the simulated coursing today

i have to say its gone downhill bigtime , IMO it should have moved to biulth well s as its more central and the northern and midlands lads would make the trek easier but at the end of the day its what you make it

Needs to go back to Llandeilo or indeed Craig y Nos, where I have big memories as a kid. Good to speak to Simoman off here today of which he has written an excellent lurcher enthusiasts book

Just my opinion. the new venue in carmarthen hasnt got the atmosphere that the old site had, and full of stalls selling f***ing hot tubs and the like, isnt going to create much either. where are the rows and rows of stall selling leads, and all other dog related stuff.

at a rough guess the same place as the other stalls at game fairs, there's simply no profit to be made by selling at game fairs anymore due to the extortionate cost of renting a pitch for a couple of days. The last time my mate had a pitch at the midland and bare in mind it was a good few years ago, it cost him fifteen hundred quid, you really do have to sell some gear to recoup that amount and come away with a profit, especially when the gear your selling is all handmade by yourself. The only people who possibly have a chance are the likes of the Hot Tub boys who are selling expensive, high profit stuff.

Well this was the first time I had been to the new venue and must agree that it has lost it's "grass roots" feel. Was great to see some old friends and meet new people, my ole mucka boots. Also met spindererlo, nasher, hywel and a couple of others. My family still had a good weekend and two days in the company of Dai Harcombe is always appreciated.............
