For me it's landscape driven...simple...average field size around here can't be much more than 20/30 acres surrounded by walls and wire (electric, plain, rylock and electric) and hedges...so saluki bl

"got" or "am" a big cock...???...

to be honest as long as it worked and did the job I wanted it to any cross would suit me

Dont like bedlington blood in a lurcher, not overkeen on collie blood either.

Dont like it when saluki blood is mixed with more traditional breeds like deerhound, wheaten etc

Gud to see you keep ya options open :0

For me its heavy collie saturated temp just does me nut in, they work well enough just they wind me up in there mannerisms.

Was a time when I'd have said I don't like anything with saluki, bull or bedlington in it, but my lad's mate has just aquired a 5th gen bull/grey x bed/grey and she's a cracker, 4-5 months old. Good feet, good thick coat, strong but and nice and racy. Still not keen on salukis though, but have seen some nice types with a fair old lump of saluki in em, but not 1st x's.

I don't have a dog about me at the moment, having a bit of a break from the dogs, but will probably have a pup out of our bitch, deer/grey x collie/grey, this type does everything we need, which my son has, and she'll be bred to a similar type, maybe next year.

Well after seeing mates who've had dogs of these sorts i wouldn't want one myself, saluki's,bull x's and belgiun mally's and guess what,i've landed up with a lurcher who has all these dogs in her  and couldn't be happier with how she's doing  .

I dont really know why i entered this thread, sorry Lurcherman, i must be bored, or it was raining.

its really quite pointless, as one mans meat, is anothers poison.

All depends on what your quarry is, and what land you run on.

also if say five come on this thread and say they dislike Bulls, Salukis, Collies Bedlingtons etc.

You will get another five that like these crosses.

So the thread will just go round in circles, getting nowhere.
