Life is a lottery. When you take on any livestock there is a gamble. You can pick any cross based upon it's relative merits, and it still not turn out right for you and the job you have in mind. then you try and stack the odds in your favour by selecting the best available pup from the best bred litter. It still may not come as good as planned........

You will find that however much you try and stack the odds in your favour, the results don't work out as planned. If you have gone to the n'th degree to pick the right type of dog from the right type of breeding and it has not done the job, don't look at the dog, look at yourself. It's not a hard and fast rule, but a bloody good starting point

I must be the odd one out, as one of the best Dogs i ever had was a Whippet X Bedlington.

As a out and out Rabbit hunter, would be looking for 21, 22, and 23, no giants.

I like Whippets and dogs with Whippet in them.

No need for Suluki, and never liked the look of Bull crosses, having worked Bedlington crosses for years.

its natural i like a bit of Bedlington in there as well.

but also like Collie x Whippet X Greyhound.

There will be a lot on here think this selection pants, but there you go.

Although I like a bit of speed, being a Ferreter, nose is high on my list

A good marker is a great help at the ferreting game.

i'm not keen on saluki's but a wee bit in the lineage is great, I like the look of a GOOD bull x (too many poor examples going around now) and can see the benefit of a touch of bull, but i've never had one, had pure greyhounds, whippets and their x's and had some great sport but not again, had a beddy x too much do and not enough thought and a pishy linty coat, i keep going back to collie x's and deerhound x's and who knows in the future maybe a mix of the two
