Anyone know if the cocking lever rivet can be punched out?, Mat2803?

Hi Mate. Great looking job on the blueing. Yeah the rivet iseasily tapped out with a punch a little thinner than the rivet as you have already done. It can be used again. When your ready to fit it

I got mine from blackpool air rifles online www.airgunbuyer.com   however Simon .. Pianoman on here has just got a tuning kit from Sandwell field sports and says its magnificent and for just shy

The rivet that attaches the cocking arm to the barrel. Im thinking I could use my vice as a press, by winding it in, it would push the rivet out.. Bit of hard wood with a hole drilled in it, to accept the rivet, and a bit of cut down nail to act as the punch? Sound precarious, but if Im careful, I think it will work...

Yeah the rivet iseasily tapped out with a punch a little thinner than the rivet as you have already done.

It can be used again.

When your ready to fit it just tap in the rivet making sure you push in the side of the rivet thats narrowest ( the side that was forced through on extraction)

The next bit is a little fiddly, i used 2 centre punches, 1 set vertical in my vice point up, i rest the side thats not been flattened on this whilst getting someone to steady the barrel and lever.

Take your other punch and gently hod it downward onto the upward facing dimple of the rivet and gently hammer the centre punch which will splay the rivet faces its original secure state.

Lastly apply some gun blue to the faces of the rivet to finish it off.

All the best
