Blackbird And Frog.

Recommended Posts

I've been watching a nest of blackbirds in a hedge in my garden and today they jumped out into the big wide world,i was watching a couple of the young un's hoping around my garden when i saw the hen pecking at something and then jumping away from it.I had no idea what was going on until i saw a frog trying to jump away and the hen Blackbird was soon back on it and in the end killed it and broke it up for the young un's spread around the garden,i never knew a Blackbird would go for a frog but even in a back garden we can learn something new  .

How interesting's that? Jesus, spend a lifetime observing birds and they still go, " Hey! Watch me do this. Bet ye never thought we did shit like this? "

Protein though, isn't it? Those young need to pack it in to pack it on now. Frog would be a hell of a bonus.

Bit grisly for the poor old frog, eh? :icon_eek:

When i had a pond in the garden the blackies would nick the tadpoles from around the outside edge they also used to eat the little frog's when they emerged..but i have never seen or heard of one tackling a full grown frog... ;)
