A Hard Choice...

Recommended Posts

In my search of .22 Cal gun I'am standing with a hard choice, should it be a Weihrauch HW 100 S or the Air Arms S510 SL Cabine. The use of the gun should be to get a better shooter on target and hunting, and in the end being a better hunting with a big bore riffel.
Here in Poland my gun shop have a new Air Arms S510 SL Cabine .22 Cal 50,- punds cheaper as a secoundhand from Great Britain, but the Weihrauch was my favorit but Air Arms is brand new and cheaper......
What should I do?

The point for me is to find a .22 cal so that I could pratise trajectory, if it has side lever or bolt is not so important for me but still a pcp gun. I want to use the .22 Cal gun for practise trajectory, so that I can better use a big bore riffel for hunting...

hw 100 or s410 ..not s510

I found a gun shop here in sunny Poland where the AA S410 .22 Cal. is £200 cheaper than the cheapest Weihrauch HW 100 .22 Cal also here in Poland, for that money I think I would get a nice scope....but £ 30 more than the cost of the AA S410 I will get a AA S510 carbine .22 Cal.....

Is the S410 Classic better then a S510 Carbine both .22 Cal?

The hw100 is a great choice, you will not be dissapointed with one of those

I will second that, but you wont find faults with the AA410 either :hmm:

A tough one. Albeit the HW is a tad quieter.

Neither are a status symbol, so i would go and shoulder both at the gun shop to see which fits better.

Either would be a great choice but I would steer towards the HW.

If you are looking to improve your shooting with a firearm then IMO I wouldn't choose either. A spring or gas ram rifle would be more beneficial for you as more emphasis is put on correct hold and trigger control with a recoiling rifle.

Atb with your choice

Today I hope my new gun will arrive, I choose the Air Arms S410 Carbine .22 Cal . I will get it from the Czech republic not from Poland because here they dont have the HW 100 or the Air Arms S410 on stock, and is it's also cheaper in the Czech republic.

Now I got some extra money for a nice scope... :boogy: Thank you Czech republic

Today my brand new S410F got some fresh air and some diabolo heavy pellets, I put a paper with a 2,5 cm bullseye up on the wall and went 28 meters back and shot the first pellets. Oh boy after shooting in the scope with the first 5 pellets, the last 45 pellets just ripped of the bullseye on the next 4 paper targets....
I'am so happy for my new gun, I can shoot zero with it, and it is so beautyfull with the walnut stock.

Great choice mate, keep practicing and make sure that you get full enjoyment out of using the thing.

Thats the most important part of this game that sadly some fellas seem to forget with their never-ending quest for the holy grail of Air Rifles ! :whistling:

And I also got a very cheap scope, because I would not wait 2 weeks before I could try out my new gun with a Hawke scope. So I went to the local gun shop and got a Zos scope, it's the 3-9x40E and I must say it's a little wonder what you get for 33,- £.
I have to wait and see but if it's still works after 3 month, maybe I should try out the bigger scope from Zos the 8-32x50 E-SFT.
