tjones3862 3,423
ray some people don't think like you, they bye off him and it don't come into there minds what the parents have done but most of these people play at the game, and iff they catch 2 a 3 rabbits there over the moon, but there not cut out for the 50 mark 3 times a week, that's a fact, but then again the owner mite not be so they mite suit each other,, Edited June 10, 2013 by tjones3862 2 Quote Link to post
birddog 1,354
facts are, bryn (and ray knows how highly i rate him) hasn't been used, the snipe dog (imo for me higher rated sorry ray) is retired from stud, phil doesn't churn out litter after litter, if i breed my jazz it'll probably be a one off,.................pups out of decent well bred, worked, known collie x's just aren't available all that often (and most are spoken for before they see daylight)........hancocks are Quote Link to post
Guest vin
Ray you should put a post up offering Bryn for Stud. He's a fine dog. . . my little Molly likes him .. If I ever wanted a litter for myself I would definately use him. Same goes for Jim's Snipe.. propper working dogs. why would anyone want to use an unproven and unworked Hancock stud dog is beyond me when theres such good dogs out there being worked season after season. Mixed Bag 603
well said lot of people with low standards just want to catch a couple of rabbits on a sunday they think their dogs the bizz if it does that once a week lol the people who want proper grafters go for dogs from proven parents grandparents and so on right down through the line some lines of lurcher been bred for 30 40 years or more not rubbish from a collie that's not saw a sheep and a greyhound that's probably never run a real hare fools and their money are easily parted. Country Joe 1,411
I think there has been to much made, of the line you get what it says in the tin from Hancock, and if you use a small type breeder who is breeding a pup for himself and selling the rest, then you don't know what your getting. Well the pups i have seen, the half cross, the greyhound bitch was there to be seen, as well as the 3/4 cross, The only dog that was missing was the collie stud, who would be on the farm. Especially now with these forums, you can suss out the genuine guys especially if you have been using the forum for a length of time. The thing about Hancock he more or less has pups for sale, where your local breeder you may have a long wait, and unfortunately in this modern culture, a wait is a no no. Quote Link to post
Mixed Bag 603
and anybody going to hancock for a stud when ray has a proven worker needs their heads looked at more fool them mate 4 Quote Link to post

tjones3862 3,423
I don't think for 1 min snipe will be up for stud again, hes only bin to 4 bitchs at that, the main reason he,s in some pain after a mateing off a hernia hes got, the other main reason it played on my mind were the pups went i no for a fact some wud of fell on a bad home that's the law of average just on 4 mateing, then you have the ones that do no work with them from 1 week to the next 6 week and then say the pups are no good,, then it comes back to the parents, so breeding in a big way his a down hill slope in many way,s 1 Quote Link to post

bird 9,861
facts are, bryn (and ray knows how highly i rate him) hasn't been used, the snipe dog (imo for me higher rated sorry ray) is retired from stud, phil doesn't churn out litter after litter, if i breed my jazz it'll probably be a one off,.................pups out of decent well bred, worked, known collie x's just aren't available all that often (and most are spoken for before they see daylight)........hancocks are yery true on snipe, he is one hell of a dog. Ive seen snipe run lot of times ,and he always had that bit extra about him, his strike+ stamina was spot on.Bryn would+ and still does run as fast on the 1st rabbit as he does on his last, jim would say the same, many time we thought if just slowed a bit he would last that bit longer, but thats how Bryn is he ,he goes like a feckin rocket 40 odd times lol . Snipe Having that bit of saluki in the mix deff gave that extra .But as its about colliexs (hancocks) and his dogs are all pure, i just think as 1x collie x grey Bryn is a 1x that been used for 6 years, and not like the hancock studs .But as i said people pick what they like its there money, and ive gone way from colliexs now as ive tried somting differnt with a 1x gsd x grey Buck my pup. And so far very happy with him, never going to like Bryn catching rabbits, would Buck wasnt bred for that .! 1 Quote Link to post
iceman001979 1,316
If it was not for the buyers there would not be puppy farms. Like everything in life if theres a buyer theres going be a seller. Quote Link to post

Why? There's pups being bred everywhere where you don't know what your getting unless your swing the pereants work night after night or day after day and you ain't gonna see that if your buying from anyone for one the bitch got a litter of pups and ain't going to be worked and you ain't gonna stay the week to watch the stud catch 50 rabbits three times a week so stop talking rubbish coz that's all it is! There's pups being bred everywhere by chavs with ther bulls and salukis where there dogs don't see grass from one month to the next boys like that are everywhere I've met them all so at the end of the day weather Hancock is a peddler or not he don't lie to sell you a pup like most so called lurcher men today you get a ingredients of Hancock the same as every other pup you just gotta make the cake! 2 Quote Link to post
