gnasher16 30,046
i dont really rate haye or fury, i reckon fury got a suspect jaw and who has haye really beat??? the heavyweight division is finished its all about welters, middleweights now, thats were the exciting fights are happening. i really dont no what happened to heavyweight division but it has never been as bad as this. Take Mike Tyson out of the frame........and the mid to late ,s was much worse than todays heavyweight scene...........thats what people seem to conveniently forget about that era........ Fury That might upset the fury massive but time will tell I just find it almost degrading to the pro game and to seasoned pro fighters that someone like that kid Ogogo can get an Olympic bronze......then immediately sign a contract under one of the biggest promotional banners in world sport and think that coming third in an amateur boxing competition carries weight of some sort !..............The fact an Olympian gets immediate tv coverage and exposure must be as hurtful to the amateur game as it is to the pros as how many Olympians are going to want to stay amateur after they scoop up a medal.

Agreed. Ogogo didn't even look good at the Olympics, got bullied physically and had zero idea when he was put under pressure. That said, he's a good looking kid, speaks very well and has a personality, which is I'm sure why Golden Boy are seeing the $ signs. The gulf between the amateur and pro game has never been bigger imo, although getting rid of head guards and computer scoring should help in the future
NEWSBOY 306
Haye is probably the best finisher in the division at the moment............Fury has been down and got back up to take charge and fair do,s for that............but Haye is a different level if he gets him down he,ll finish him......and at some point he will connect flush that you can be sure of. The Eubank kid i dont rate him at all..........Degale i dont think will ever reach world level...................The time will come when an Olympic medal wont hold as much weight in the pros as it currently seems to ! who as haye finished in the division that is anygood? plus if haye gets 17/18 stone on his chin he will go, young fury wants it more, haye wants big dollar thats all.

Dont try and compare the two the are seprate sports , head protection in my opinion should be used at junior level , and domestic club comps. But at international level. None should be worn But that will never happen as the international aba commitee can not agree on any thing Edited June 10, 2013 by gonetoearth

Of the 5 fights Haye has won at Heavyweight......4 of them were won by stoppage......2 of them in world title fights.....................to compare Hayes list of opponents to Furys is just being silly.....4 of Hayes last 5 fights were for world titles............Furys last 5 fights have been against over 35 year olds !! The recent common opponent is Derek Chisora...........Fury had a laboured points win against an out of shape Chisora.....Haye destroyed a peak Chisora in 5 rounds...................Why does Fury want it more ? Because he says so ?............He also says 2 more fights and he will be a " super legend " .........Judge a fighter by what he does not by what he says he can do.
