AirgunGuy 362
Whippets in full flight a sight to behold. Rip blackly, and toots , Agreed. Ran mine on the lure last week for the 1st time and they can fair shift. Might actually be the 1st time i've actually been able to stand back and see him at full speed in daylight ha. Does looks fantastic though when they give it their all Quote Link to post

THELURCHERANDLONGDOG 91
Ive seen some smart whippets but its lurcher for me everytime Quote Link to post
Dewclaw69 484
lurcher any day . the idea of a lurcher is breeding a sight hound / long dog with ( traditionally) pastoral breed of dog to add the qualities you require to the end result. Quote Link to post
troter58 1,711
no brainer lurcher if whippets were better we would all use them but its good watching a good whippet on rabbit lurcher has more in its tank and will bounce better Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,085
whippets are fast great to watch but its not all about speed lurchers for me every time Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Having worked mainly Bedlington crosses and one pedigree Whippet, I would recommend both. As a rabbit hunter and Ferreter, i put a lot on marking, this puts more rabbits in the bag. maybe i was lucky, as both breeds were good markers, and both would catch. Have to say, its exciting to watch a Whippet flat out taking a Rabbit. Quote Link to post

What are you under the assumption a non ped whippet is then, it's not a lurcher, it's made up of whippet and greyhound blood, which to me is a longdog. Quote Link to post
