Gas Ram Bsa Lightening

Recommended Posts

you have to do a bit of customizing .file a bit of the pin that holds the main spring in the gun if I remember .When I put the gas ram in my gun it shot well for a short while .I did leave the gun cocked but that is why I got the gas ram so I could .After a short time the gas ram leaked oil and lost power when I fitted the gas ram it shot at 11.8 ft lbs bang on but it lost power . I have gone back to a well fitted spring with a top hat and tight spring guide.I would not get another gas ram .

I had an old UK built Lightning for a few years that I fitted a ram to. I never had any problems with the ram myself but it didn't really improve the BSA too much overall.

It still had a shit trigger but at least the action was smoother to cock and fire. The recoil was a little quicker but I don't see this as being a bad thing. I'm not saying it was harsh and it did at least get rid of the horrble twang that the donkey had before.

I'm really not a fan of the Lightning. They were shit when built in the UK and turned to total shite when built by the Spanish. Just sack it off and get something else, mate.

above is a better solution ......I did get a lightning with the intention of putting a gas ram in the gun when the spring fails .the bsa gamo spring broke quite soon so no problem so I put in the gas ram ????.but my solution to getting a good spring gun for shooting rabbits was a second hand 97k .
