Gaz_1989 9,539
For those that read my post back in February about being taken in for police questioning over a suspected lamping incident, we have just had the charges dropped in court. We attended last Friday and it was adjourned for 7 days due to lack of evidence. Today the case was dropped. They saw us walking off a public footpath with lamps and dogs. No game had been run or caught. They tried to throw the book at us and went for charges of "section 1 of the hunting act 2004" and also a separate charge under the dangerous dogs act for having out of control dogs. Ludicrous considering the dogs didn't come off the leads. We think they were just hoping we would submit an early guilty plea. Which of course we did not. Result in my book. Gaz_1989 9,539
Oh yes, everything is being claimed back. Loss of earnings, solicitor fees for 3 of us at £200 + Vat per person, per day. They really are getting very silly.

Born Hunter 17,798
It seems to me, 'they' know very well that it's hard to pin charges on anyone so try to get you to hang yourself so to speak. Most people these days are either dropping themselves in it or getting done on animal neglect charges, very few fairly and squarely prosecuted with good old fashioned hard evidence of illegal hunting. It was the same 30 year ago mate, nothing's changed. Most police cases are solved through informers etc, the police rarely catch anyone in the act.

I agree. First thing they did was come round checking dogs and kennels etc. Mine have both got a 6' x 4' kennel and 2m x 2m run, cleaned out twice most days. Fed the best and excersised well. They couldn't pick fault with anything. Tossers

Brewman 1,192
Mention to your solicitor at the possibility of a malicious prosecution. If it was the ArsePCA see about putting in a complaint or an open letter to the local press. Their activities really get on my goat.
