chook1 184 Posted June 11, 2013 Report Share Posted June 11, 2013 From the pictures it looks like its the glands that's causing it, when there full they are painful for the dog so they bite and nibble at the area to try and get rid of what is causing the pain, best thing you can do is ask the vet to do them and show you how to do them yourself as when first done the dog will scream and some will try to bite ( as it is very painful) also it stinks to high heaven when there expressed. Get them done first - then look at other things, coal tar shampoo is also good for flaky skin but i think that should start to clear up once the initial problem has gone.
