malc1 544
we were talking to the wifes friend in spain and she said they start off with packs of 20 and end up with about 5 at the end of the season not thinkin of buying one just thought it would be something for you all to have a good chat about the prey drive is suppose to be realy spot on I wonder if its because they are in packs that they are vocal Quote Link to post
Keeps 403
I saw some Podencos hunting on Mount Teide, Tenerife a couple of years ago. As has been said above they hunt with them in packs. The terrain they worked on was very harsh, high altitude - Mount Teide is volcanic and the highest point in Spain, and also very hot. Some of these dogs were hunting very near to the top, on volcanic ash, fascinating to watch, I was there to see the volcano, but watching the dogs working along the way was much more interesting and unexpected! They only hunt for two days of the week, Thursdays and Sundays and need permits to do so. I thought the dogs were quite smart to look at, very uniform, looking like smallish lurchers, of similar build and size to one of my own lurchers, Inca. Quote Link to post
