johnc. 36
My lurcher bitch had a tick in her ear last september and only noticed when she caught it on my hand as she yelped. It was quite large but have lost my tick extractor from the vet but used my old way passed to me by an old fellow ferreter in the 70s use fairy liquid neat on to the tick leave it for 5 minutes and gently pull it off with tweezers as it looses its grip. They come off complete and quite easy Butter or vaseline dose the same, they pull away because they cant breath. Ill get slated for saying this but there's alot of pussyfooting around thicks, many a time i had one as a kid big swing

Ratreeper 441
What's the best thing to do after you cock it up? Hypothetically lets say you pulled a tick with tweezers and now it's left a small bump where it used to be, do you have to try and squeeze the head out or best leaving it? Outlaw Pete 2,224
Sorry. I just have this image locked in my head now, of Millet squeezing His head out ..... All over some tick infested dog too! I think I might have to take IanB to court for allowing such an idea to be typed here. I'm surely traumatised after reading that! Millet; If Skycat taught you that, I Do Not wish to f**king hear about it! Knew I should have stayed on General .....
