DIDO.1 22,838
My phone has gone mad with calls to deal with bee nests in the last 4 days. I honestly do my best to convince people to leave them in peace and only try to remove those that are in areas that could pose a risk but that said I still destroy lots of bees worsed part of my job really. that said i'm getting as many as ever and not seen a massive decrease this year

Or don't bumbles like being moved? I never did get to try that. I can't understand anyone wanting rid of bumble bees. When I was doing pest control I spent ages, like you, trying to convince people to leave them alone.

interloper 3
I was clearing up by my greenhouse this morning ,picked up an old growbag & there was a nest under it , gently replaced it so they should be ok . Up to that point hardly seen any just the odd one in the barn . The old boy down our track keeps a couple of hives & he recons its going to be a bad year , although he recons every year is a disaster , ten minutes with him & you loose the will to live .. i worked with an old lad who was like that, he was forever named THE PROPHET OF DOOM. Neal 1,869
I was clearing out the wood store during half term and was thinking of cleaning out the nest box I keep there...until I heard an ominous buzzing sound coming from within. Not sure which species they are but they're fairly small with a white bum and one yellow band across the "shoulders" but are otherweise fairly dark. Every species in my insect book which looked like them said underground nester. Also, although the bees are about a month later than usual this year, I've not seen as many dead bees.
