Its like everything else the RSPB wont admit that certain species are thriving throughout our land....that would justify wild take wouldnt it?

There was two pair on the estate I worked on just north of Fort William (30 000 acres) I somehow don't think they were the only ones in the country. Was out in the sound of Jura at the weekend, my mate runs a water taxi and does trips out to see the local wildlife etc, watched two sea eagles for ages and they've reared two young this year. good to see.

I agree they're not a rare as people make out, still bad news though, I hope it was an accident and not done on purpose.

the eagle was poisoned in the borders area where as most eagles are in the highlands, think it was 1 of only 3 pairs in southern scotland

the newspaper said it was the only breeding pair in the borders, but anyone who beleives what they read in the papers wants there heads looked at in my opinion !
