Elliott 436
Nice video Si, some great shooting as usual. Those empty cases certainly are a challege. When I did my video with the .22 Dave Hall HW77K I was aiming at the bottom of the case where the hammer strikes at a lazed 50m. Its about the size of a .22 pellet. I've got loads of cases from the HMR, they do make good targets! Keep up the good work, nice to see Phil in the vids too! Edited June 5, 2013 by Elliott 1 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Awesome review Si! Keep up the vids mate. I saw some of this action first hand. You keep destroying all my tests I'm going to have to think up a new test lol! Phil Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Are all these shots bench rested ? Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
No not bench rested, just rested on the palm of your hand on the table using a bean bag or rifle bag as a support. Phil Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
No part of the gun touches a foreign object Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Thanks everyone for the comments about the rifle . In all fairness its much more accurate that i could ever shoot it . I'm 100% sure that on a windless day the HW98 would also be able to hit the bottom of a .22 rim fire case quite consistently Elliott bud. Maybe not with me shooting it, as i think the bottom of a case at that range would be pushing my skill limits a little too much at the moment, but with a better shot than me I'm sure it could be done easily enough What I did do yesterday though with Phil witnessing it, but sadly we didn't film it being done was to shoot a 5 shot group with the 98 at 55 yards in a very slight breeze and 4 of the 5 pellets went in the same hole with the 5th shot just falling outside the 1 hole. Its a shame that we didn't film it as it would of made some real nice footage. Hi Rob glad that you liked watching the 98 in action at ODP HFT course. Im sure you will end up with one very soon. Me and Davy have just received a text message from Tony Wall. Apparently the boss at Hull Cartridge as just watched this clip and as phoned Tony asking him to tune his own personal HW98 the same as mine. He also said that all the lads at HC now watch VHTV and follow the channel taking great interest in what we are doing with the HW rifles . Si. 1 Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Sertainly one accurate set up you have and and some great shooting aswel, I read you were planing on getting one in .22 but won't it be the same as the spectra because they are the same action and barrel I believe (could be wrong) so the same tune and accuracy? Atb bud Yes Lewis, your right in the action and internals the same but the 98 is a whole different beast when it fires due to the stock, barrel shroud and weight. The whole firing cycle is different and the 98 isn't as hold sensitive as the Spectre. The Spectre shoots with deadly accuracy and will match a pcp but you really need to know how to shoot it without imparting too much weight onto its cheek piece. If you press too hard on it the pellet goes anywhere but the target, but if you master the lighter hold and touch it will single hole at silly ranges. An example is today. Ive been shooting with Davy and Nigel at the 65 yard range. Davy was using his Spectre and smashing targets the size of bottle tops and even a 15mm KZ on a squirrel knock down target at 63 - 65 5 yards. He knows how to shoot it properly now and Davy is deadly accurate with it. Quote Link to post
