porkycrook 466
Got home about an hour ago from the weekends meet from Turton Towers, no you need not worry that I may be socializing above my class. But no I have been to a fantastic weekend with some real true friends and to all of them I have to give my apologies for again I have not been able to add much to the weekend, apart from the sausages and chops. So sorry that I could not do more but you never learn, if you book the next meet can you please find somewhere that has flat level well manicured lawns. Then I may go for the full weekend and not have to cry off for some of it lol. I have a few personal notes if I may. First I would like to say a big thank you to Davy, for tirelessly working organising the meet. Next I want to thank John (Wurz) for being camp chef, I don't mean that Wurz is camp although watching the video of Davy asleep and seeing that he has learnt the actions . The next is Neil and Anne for bringing the wood, not only the bonfire wood but also for the extra pieces he brought in for me. I want to thank Si for sharing his knowledge about ballistics and also showing Joe and myself the "near and far" principles that he and Davy are using, as well as being as busy organising the meet. Next is not a thank you it is a confirmation of a conversation I had over the weekend with Tony, mate I meant what I said and I hope you enjoy the pistol. I just had to start my journey homewards so didn't have a chance to cheerio. Now I want to give some praise to three youngsters Joe, Brendan and Dylan, all three are a credit to their families and in time to come they will all be very good shooters and our hobby will be in safe hands. Look out for Brendan because he will hand some grown men a beating. Over the weekend Brendan won the darts competition , the "Mint" challenge and I understand he also won todays competition so I would guess he won overall. So to everyone that came be it for a short time or for the whole weekend I say thank you . Roger 2 Quote Link to post

porkycrook 466
HUFF, not one person has complimented the brilliant un-biased judge, the judge made the extremely hard job so easy. It was bad enough that you erected a cover to protect the poor old hard done by shooters, we cant let them lay down for a while in the sun. NO but the brilliant un-biased judge can sit out in the burning sun all day, he's a real man never once drawing attention to his plight. Just goes to show how true the old sayings are, the fact that he is one of the "HARD SOUTHERNERS". You just should thank your lucky stars that he wasn't one of the "Northern flat cap and whippet brigade", if you want proof of the Northern shandy drinkers read earlier posts made by Daz. He owns up to the fact that he couldn't even keep up with the godly Davy (porno chops), the godly Davy only ever drinks at these meets so alcohol is very strange thing for him. 1 Quote Link to post
