These are'nt hard ones just a couple while out with gamekeeper,

Jesus i love the capers....hunted them a few times when they were legal. Superb big bird. Never got one!

They two females J/D were hatched using a batam after the female was killed flying into a deer fence,caper were the keepers thing he was right into them,used to go to a few lek's to watch them amazing bird's,atb NID.

Would have loved to see them big birds lecking, my friend once shot a huge male on a driven day, i have seen it, built like a big turkey!!

Your'e lucky to have been so close. My experiences with them all happened over a three year period in Speyside...

Same area J/D but now the woods are all schedule 1 birds nesting there,a lot of ongoing work is being done to try and help the Caper such as removing deer fences and the ongoing vermin control.

There's also being a downturn in Bilberry (spelling) as apart from pine needles is a big part of their diet,atb NID.
