Was up bright and early this morning, quick coffee and set off out with the dogs for a nice walk out down to the quarry before it got too warm and they all took too the shade for the day. Let em all off on the old railway line and started away walking as you do, one of them days ou can simply forget all your worries , bills , kids etc

Sadly one of my pack will never be coming out again, my beloved lamper Lamper Jenny 6 year old, quickly marked a rabbit in cover, impatient as ever she simply could not wait for the spaniel to come and flush it, she darted in full force, her trade mark, and flushed it herself unfortunately she hit a metal post whilst chasing it , horrible sickening sound and something I will never forget, when I got to her she was lay out, not a whimper alive but with a huge gaping hole in her back end, blood allover her , the game little bitch got herself to her feet and limped towards me , her back leg was smashed too pieces, the rest of the pack simply cam back no recall need and we set of home, I tried my best to carry her but was causing more discomfort, the bitch ended up walking back the short distance on three legs, pure warrior.

The vet was not able to save her sadly, I cannot thank this young woman enough, and also Pointer off her, who told me the right thing to do and dug the hole for her.

She weren't pertfect and fair does she once jacked on charlie and I questioned her heart, but she gave me many nights and days to remember and now I think back , jacker? no she showed more heart than I will ever posses today, not a whimper, she even made it easy for me at the end, gunna miss her forever ........
