Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
they are both great guns I have a hw95k and I have fired a tx200 both very nice rifles 1 Quote Link to post
fret78 87
Try both if you can and whichever "feels" the best to you, that will be the one you'll be most accurate with. 1 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Both are brilliant rifles but my money would go on the tx200 and I've owned both. Out of the two I would buy another tx. Phil Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Both are very good rifles mate and will shoot very straight and true if you do your part. I would say the TX200 is the more refined rifle out the box. If you really wanted to up the anti though I would 100% advise on getting a HW98 and getting it SFS stage 1 tuned. My 98 now bedded in is better and I never thought I would say it than my HW97KT. Im actually contemplating selling one of my rifles to fund another .22 HW98 from SFS. Si. 3 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Sell the 100 mate, spring all the way! ;-) Phil 4 Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
what do you think about the AA TX200 HC .177 what do you think about the WEIHRAUNCH HW95k .177? Hi roosika AATX200HC .177 is a full power single shot under lever, cracking rifle out of the box! and even better once its bedded In, it has a shortened action for better handling at 41.5 inches, a two stage adjustable trigger, built in moderator "plenum insert" depending on which country you are in. or you can fit additional moderator, once you take out the plastic plenum insert. It has a deep cut laser chequering in fish scale for superb grip, it has a automatic safety on trigger unit, and also a secondary "bear trap" safety in the action. You can have a beech/walnut stock. Un-scoped it weighs 4.1Kg (beech model) so if you are in the noodle arm club, I would invest in a sling, ideal for hunting and competition. HW95K .177 Is a full power single shot break barrel, cracking little air rifle, wouldn’t say out of the box though! To get it to the TX standard I would say personally that it would need a little fettling/tune. Once bedded in after the tune, it will shoot just about as well as my TX, but that's once you get to grips of how light it is, and this can cause it to be hold sensitive. It has a two stage world famous rekord trigger unit, automatic safety on trigger unit; you can get it in beech stock, not too sure about walnut though? It comes with a Weihrauch silencer, apparently its 4 inches shorter in length than the original hw95k incl the moderator at 44.8 inches.it also has a laser chequering, but not as grand as the TX Not ideal for shooting out of a vehicle.it weighs 3.2Kg so lighter than the TX and would suit a junior nicely. Ideal for hunting and competition But beware of late both AA & HW have been known to slacken there quality control, and it has upset many an air gun enthusiast, who have parted with their hard earn’t cash! If you was to purchase one of the above rifles, make sure you have it second hand by at least 2 years 2009/2010 model. And make sure you get it from a reputable RFD (gun shop) if you decide to buy private, then ask for the serial number before purchase, then call AA/HW and they will give you all the history for that serial number. Knowing what I know now if I was to buy another one of these air rifles I would choose the AA, purely because it’s cracking out of the box, and does not need extra money spent on it to perform better! So the AATX200HC gets my vote 4 Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
as davy just said, my hw95k was a dog out of the box, making awful grinding noises when cocking and twangy as hell on firing.. all I spent on it tho actually was a few quid for some wirewool and some moly grease , opened her up, smoothed all the parts a bit and re greased her with quite a liberal amount of moly and now shes a stuniing rifle to use. not 'tuned' as such but definitely very smooth with little recoil VERY quiet, not twangy, and accurate and very consistent with a max spread of 13 fps over 10 shots with jsb exacts 4/52 straight from the tin. im actually quite proud of myself for how I have changed a beast into a beauty .. and it was the first gun I have ever stripped down aswell 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
A good tuning kit for a TX200 is.... .......The rifle itself. it shouldn't need one....unless there is something radically wrong. And that would need more than a tuning kit! Quote Link to post
