I personally don't consider a 24/25 inch dog a small dog, I think the frame of the dog matters more in these sizes and most of them are very adequate indeed   I consider a small dog 18/22 with a sma

Whats everyones opinion on a small lurcher to me 25tts is a big dog just curious

its ok for these dogs to catch deer preban but ,.........too define a good small dog they needed to be finished quick aswell............ no point catching them to suffer from clinging to the back leg

N l, that's a good point. Your bitch at 19" is small, but at 44lb I'd say it's sort of medium size. Regarding height I would class small as 18-21, medium 22-25, big 25-28, very big 28+. But that's all a bit anal lol, we all know there are dogs of a particular size that shouldn't be able to do a certain job due to their size, or lack of it, but do it regularly anyway. Anyway, that bitch of yours looks a nice powerful thing

you would be amazed to see how far a fallow buck can run with two 70lb dogs hanging off it, and the amount damage that that can be inflicted in that time, and thats after the fist strike has taken it to the ground

so your knocking deer out with your fists............. :whistling:

Just waiting for the fabled 22inch beddy whipet that pulls red stags

In my opinion, and my opinion only, if your game was deer, then you wouldnt have got in a small dg.... especially where fallow sika ree deer where on the menu.

I had a 27" dog he would pull fallow does on peace even the larger does of 100lb weight but come the bucks it seemed he would chase them and just keep pushing . Now and then though hed get one, if running doubled.

They are big animals that can jump for fun... and demolish walls fences etc
