BORDERSCOT 3,816
SOME OF YOU MAY REMEMBER BORDERSCOT OFFERING MEMBERS ON HERE THE CHANCE TO TAKE PART IN A TWO DAY DRY STONE WALLING COURSE! WELL I TOOK HIM UP ON THE OFFER AND VISITED HIM EARLIER LAST MONTH! WELL WHAT CAN I SAY? THE GUY IS AN ABSOLUTE GENT AND HIS FAMILY ARE FANTASTIC! THEY TOOK A COMPLETE STRANGER INTO THEIR HOUSE AND WAITED ON ME HAND AND FOOT(AND REFUSED POINT BLANK THE OFFER OF ANY MONEY) AND ON TOP OF THAT I LEARNT A GREAT DEAL! I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN SOONER BUT THE LAPTOP HAS BEEN ON THE BLINK! AGAIN THANKS COLIN AND THANKS TO YOUR FAMILY FOR THE THOROUGHLY WARM WELCOME I RECIEVED! HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN SOON! CHEERS ROB Hi Rob - It was a pleasure to have you here in Hawick mate... you're good company and I'm glad you enjoyed the course...even if the weather on the Saturday was shocking... Sunday was kinder to us though... Hopefully your new skills will be put to good use...and it'd be great to see you back here again to develop your obvious ability further...you're welcome any time.... Rob totally shattered the "if only you were closer" line by driving to the Scottish Borders overnight from Cornwall..arriving here at 6.30am on the Saturday...one or two coffees later and we were walling by 8.30...and he left 4.30 on the Sunday for the return journey...maximum effort on his part... Take care mate...
BORDERSCOT 3,816
Lots of kind word there guys all appreciated for sure... However, I am a great believer in "do unto others..." And take it from me...I have been looked after since joining this site...from a gratis terrier pup from Ireland to free and delivered ferrets from Aberdeen and Cumbria, major assistance in getting my new pup from Wales to Scotland, sourcing medication etc...books, DVD's, advice and help on many, many different occasions. I've often asked for help, ideas, opinions and advice and never, not once, have my requests fallen on deaf ears...you guys all know who you are...and you're input is valued greatly and appreciated...

salclalin 240
Dry Stone Walling is a work of ART.Nice to see it being carried out. I learnt it from a Great Man(Farmer)Many years ago.The one thing that sticks in my Mind,He told me when you pick up a Stone Never put it Down,It will Fit somewhere.
