wabbit slayer 16
Hi I have a two year old lab, I used to take her shooting when she was a pup but for some reason I stopped. Anyway I would like to start her off again, she loves going out shooting with me but she and me need some work. Prob best starting from the begining with the basics but im not sure how to start or the best way to go about it. Some say its too late and that I should have pulled my finger out when she was a pup, and others say its never too late. Is it best to try and train her on my own (even though I am not sure what im doing) or would it be best to attend some kind of group training class? Any advice would be great! Can anyone recomend any training classes? Im near to Pontefract in West Yorkshire. Looking forward to reading your replys. Quote Link to post

brucemyster 75
Only started my Spaniel at 3 years, was just a house dog/ pet before that, they've all got it in them just got to tease it out!! If I was a better trainer though it would be a better dog, but does what I need it to do although would probably be frowned upon by people who know dogs as being very rough around the edges and not taking enough direction, but he's happy and loves going out with the gun and so am I, isn't that all what it's all about anyway?
