I'm sure you did mate...he's a rep...on commission maybe?????? Feed it on its own...feed more... shovel it in...don't add anything and I'll deliver another two bags next week...   The way I have

I can recall the early days of "complete" dog scran..it was called Solo and £4 a bag lol...it was sheep heads split with an axe, meat from the knackersyard, bread and veg..the dogs always ran ok on it i

Could try keeping a sack of both 20 and 28%,I do this with the red mills and make a mix,of varying amounts depending on how much exercise/work the dogs have had, also feed meat, carcass, tins of fish etc

If thats gain 28 stay away from it, specialty bull x's makes your dogs hot both mine scratched massive holes in there knecks that had to be stitched buy vets they look a right mess, scarred for life.

Fed Gain 28% for years and also Red Mills Excell 32% when they are grafting hard...never had an issue...interesting point you make tho...how quickly did this condition take to manifest...and did it affect their behaviour...some folk reckon too much protein makes em nuts...never had an issue...mind you when they are on the above feeds they are getting a serious amount of graft...they're on Gain 20% at the moment...

Maybe the protein levels were too high for the

Bull x just a thought, heard good reports of this food

I was going to feed a lower protein level anyway

Don't think my dogs need 28% in the summer I would supplement it with veg, bones meat etc thanks for the replies atb TP

Good point. Too much protein and not enough work - they may well have too much energy for a 20 min walk round the block twice a day - but if they are being properly worked, the energy is used . If mine are ever layed up on low exercise because of injuries, the first thing I do is cut the protein, so they are not climbing the walls.

As for scratching - a lot of dogs are intolerant of grains like wheat - which appear in most dry food. Some dogs are more sensitive than others, and wheat intolerance tends to show itself in diarrhoea and itchy skin.
