RubyTex 1,957
A GRANDMOTHER and grandson watched in horror as their pet dog was mauled to death while they were out walking in Seaton Carew. The woman was walking near the Blue Lagoon, in Hartlepool, with her nine-year-old grandson and two dogs, an 11-year-old terrier and border collie. The dogs were set on by a greyhound or lurcher that then ran off at around 5.10pm on Saturday, May 25. But it returned with another two animals of the same breed and all three attacked the small terrier, causing fatal injuries. A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The lady and her grandson were left extremely shaken and distressed, witnessing their pet being killed. “A man then approached, took the three dogs and ran away, leaving the woman and boy with the badly injured dog. “It is believed that a man on the beach may have witnessed the attack and may be able to help police with their enquiries. “We would urge him or anyone with information to contact police on 101.” http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/crime/dog-walkers-horror-as-pet-mauled-to-death-on-hartlepool-beach-1-5720775 I hope whoever's responsible isn't on here... Simoman 110
An old age pensioner and a nine year old child...........I know if my dogs did that my conscience wouldn't allow me to run off and leave them to deal with the badly injured dog. Yet more bad publicity for lurcher owners..................

Stevie E 66
Shocking aint the word for it seen a few dickheads on the same beach and witnessed out of control lurchers on a few occasions its a nice place to let the dogs let of some steam but it honestly put me off going there because of the attitude of others and unruly dogs its not the place to go if you cant call your dog back or its allowed to free run all over the place ,honestly it was only a matter of time before it did actually happen im sad to say .For instance seen a pregnant lurcher bitch been set upon by a group of lurchers and the owner of the dogs just walked away saying it,ll do it no harm when i met the lad whos dog it was.Even had my own dogs ran up luckily my old bitch is a bit bad tempered towards dogs that run up trying it on , with common courtesy she gets called back and leashed when ever i see anyones dog running about ,best one was an old bloke on the other side of the sand dunes with his bull xs well out of sight ran over and jumping at the kids and running at the dogs the missus was going ballistic trying to shout the owner inbetween trying to kick the dogs away so i went over the dunes and told the old fecker what an arse hole he was he said there were probably playing cause they love kids yeah right so i said if i do see them running mad again i,d happily go and take something heavy to them and stop it .Thats just the three ive seen for myself ! Thing is where will the bloke go now not many places to go around the town now unless he brings them over here on the beach or to summerhill to let his dogs run freely ,god help us and id be very wary and keep an eye out cos it could be our dog next . RubyTex 1,957
Aye it is a nice beach stevie i usually go to Steetley and it's exactly the same mate, dickheads galore. Me and the dogs like to mind our own business and if there's other dogs i send these two into the deeper water to avoid confrontation, only yesterday i was down there and two collies set about the pup because she wouldn't give them her rubber toy thing, all the while the owners were clambering over the wooden struts next to the pier with no clue where their dogs were or what they were up to...soon put a stop to it with my size 10 wellie and they fecked off...owners none the wiser. Knobheads. Had loads of chew with muppets who can't call their dogs back and if they won't feck off then my older dog gets pissed off and starts had a lab steal the pups toy on Crimdon beach once and Tex chased it up the beach in pursuit of this toy, there's me thinking "shit" and all he did was give it a little nudge on it's arse, brought the toy back then went back about his business, so loyal to his daughter it's unreal Edited May 29, 2013 by RubyTex
zack 65
had my old lurcher set on twice by pet dogs running out of control first was a 2 heinz 57 types that soon fecked off with a swift kick .. whilst the owner was shouting from across a field away " their only playing " next time it was a staffy .. walking down a public footpath to the fields . dog comes out of noware set stright into my dog the the owner came around the corner and as soon as i seen him with a big smile on hes face . i thought feck this and sliped my dog smile soon went .. and when i seen him after he always had hes dog on the lead thing is could have been a child or and old person walking their pet .. i always have my dog on the lead in public .. and only have him off when 100% sure no1 is about
