thurso jack 3
Good night for a little spin with the lamp tonight, so i offered to take the girlfrind out with us for a look so she could see what its all about. arrived at the field and within 10 feet of entering it there was a rabbit squatting nicely in the grass, i was just about to let the dog off, when from behind me i heard the girlfriend cry "look, look theres a rabbit there" at the top of her voice , to which i replied "i knew the rabbit was there, the dog knew the rabbit was there, and now the effing rabbit runnng for the horizon knows we are there also" never mind another 100 yards and we were on another, slipped the pup and she had it in the bag within seconds, rabbit squeeling like hell, girlfrind sqeeling along with it, not too impressed lol but after it was dispatched she was quite excited by it all, we walked another 50 yards and another rabbit is sitting nice for us so i slip the pup again, this one gave her a good run and looked to be getting away into a fallen down stone wall, with the pup close on its heels, the pup then made one of those desparate lunges knowing if it doesnt the rabbits away, i wish she didnt and i watched grimacing as she made the catch whilst tumbling over and colliding with the wall, she got up straight away and on inspecting her she had a couple of very small cuts on her legs so that was the end of the night, home to feed her up and treat her cuts, nothing serious and im sure she will be fine in the morning. Here is a pic of the girlfriend and the pup fiac and the brace of bunnys at the end of the night. YIS TJ Edited August 11, 2007 by thurso jack Quote Link to post

In reply to Bill you dont want the misses getting to used to lamping because every time you go you will need to take her gets anoying sometimes when you want to be alone. Regards highlander. I don't do much lamping single handed anymore,if i'm honest it give's me the heebie jeebie's.I start to hear and see stuff that ain't there.I was lamping over a local golf course one night on my own,and i thought some fecker was running towards me.I threw the lamp down, and grabbed my stick ready to cosh the f****r.It was the flag on the 7th green blowing in the wind. Another time me and my brother were out with the dog's,we'd had some a*******s break into the car a couple of weeks before,so i dropped him at the entrance road, and took the car down the drive to the farmhouse.I started walking back to meet him on the other side of this wood, and i swear blind, something or somebody was following me through the woods. If you were out having a drink with me and there was any bother, then i'm yer man But any wierd noise's in the wood's,and i'm doing a linford christie mate Quote Link to post
