Genuine Help In Choosing A .22 Rifle For Rabbit Work

Recommended Posts

Well I've been shopping and after handling a few makes and models, the weihrauch hw95k just felt right to me.

The staff at manchester air guns were really helpful, they fitted a nikko sterling scope (lovely clear optics) and chrono'd the gun with a few brands of pellet, air arms field 5.52's producing a solid 11.37 ft lbs.

I love the fit and finish on the rifle, it just feels quality.

Thanks for all your advice it was much appreciated

I have a really nice hw95k aswell mate they are a cracking rifle, every bit as accurate as my more expensive hw97's and quieter aswell.

I prefer my heavy guns tho and I cant get the best out of my hw95k its just not the rifle for me, doesn't 'fit' me.. which is a real shame as I do love the rifle.

let us know how you get on with your new rifle mate and don't forget some pics :D

I'll stick a few pics up of the rifle tomorrow, it's a beauty :-)

I had a couple of magpies yesterday after spending some time fine tuning the zero....they dropped without flinching, it certainly packs a punch. 11.37 recorded in the shop with AA diabolos, but on my friends combro ( I think that's what he said it was called, it goes over the end of your rifle) it showed as 11.30 as a five shot average. Anyway, more than enough.

I'm more than happy with my choice, it's going on an evenings ratting on Friday after the abattoir has closed. That should be great fun.
