Bet no-one would have said a word if it was some religious symbol (Not Christian, obviously - that would have been frowned on.)

Wear Your Poppy with Pride

Statement from Morrison's

We understand that it’s important to many people to show support for our armed forces. Morrisons is a long time supporter of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and we welcome Help for Heroes fundraisers into stores.

As a company we encourage store colleagues to show their support for the Royal British Legion by wearing poppies in October and November.

We currently ask that colleagues adhere to a company dress code which precludes bracelets and pins. However, we have reviewed these guidelines and colleagues working in non-fresh food preparation areas will now be permitted to wear a registered charity wristband.

I doubt it, in fact its probably the decision of a white middle class manager/ Human resource person. Too worried about the company been sued by an ethnic minority, who to be honest couldnt give a toss. This is starting to show as the thick end of the wedge that was the human rights act. Another Blairite f### up!

Economics,

A muslim sees the poppy and wristband and is down the mosque shouting boycott boycott. Morrison's want the muslims money. Staff get told take it off.

Staff shouts out not allowed to wear poppy wristband, English patriots start shouting boycott boycott, Morrison's does the maths, more English £ (at the moment!) Morrison's 'U' turn.

So you fellas over there got to think what business to patronise, for me kebabs are out.
