Ratreeper 441
So you want a well paid job but not full time? Well I always get emails about self-employed delivery drivers with very high earnings promised, but I don't trust them so I don't know if anyone here could vouch for them. But something like that might tick a few boxes, you can plan your own hours to suit you and maybe there would be a hired version that provides a van etc for you? I wouldnt say part time lol just not silly hours for silly pay , so eg. you are working long hours any only bringing in min wage. I bought a Van last year but couldnt get enough work, so it had to go maybe the area i was in, moving this week and I had thought about buying another and trying in my new area, when i got work i could earn £100 a day cheers for the reply Edited May 28, 2013 by wardle65

neems 2,406
I know what you mean,it seems like most employers either want you working 15-20 hours a week but completely unfixed hours or 50+ hours a week. just be patient and stay in work while you're job hunting,if your only working 5 hours a week you're still much employable than someone who's on the dole imo. Guest vin
taxi driving isnt a bad crack.. my mate in salford manchester does very well out the job..picks his own hours and days. rents his car and rents his radio/tac etc etc ..still clears a good wedge. . he said if he owned the car he would be much better off,but still does ok. Funny thing is they get driver coming form Leeds/bradford etc etc to work there for the day/night cause they make better money there.

jonah. 775
top and bottom of it is that the people that have been with the firms for a while have worked the way through to the nicer roles in most firms, though not many are left, most firms use the economic climate to screw terms and conditions right down, hours and pay are the 2 big ones for them to look to reduce. there aint many nice normal jobs at all to be honest, just gotta get stuck in and work your way through the shit, with a bit of luck / hard work of you might drop on your feet. good luck
