Hi,my uncle has been using the same browning rimfire on his land for 41 years, its a tired looking thing (rifle not uncle) but its done its job without issue and he wouldn't dream of changing it, anyone had an 'old faithful' longer?

Yes I used to have a SMLE that was new in 1917. Don't know who had it before me, or where it had been before ( suspect it had been abroad a time or two) but shot well and has since gone to a new owner.

SMLE great rifle, I have got a 1917 model now and I still hit the odd V bull at 600yrds.

My father-in-law gave me his old Spanish single barrel hammer action 12 bore the other week as he's giving up shooting due to his deteriating eye sight. He bought it when he was 18, and he's now 73. 54 years!! I've no intention of using it mind, he just didn't want to try and sell it as probably worth nowt....
