Terrano Won't Start

My mates terrano won't start the engine is turning like it wants to fire up, has anybody any ideas is that like a fuel pump away or something?

give me an email address and ill send you something explaining how to do the mil light test.... this finds fault codes for you without the expensive plug in box

 

its for the 2.7tdi only and will be sent attacked to an email, i cant cut/paste it on here i tried before

first thing id do mate is check you got diesel coming into diesel filter,if u have check it getting into pump.it could be a small block or shite in fuel line or filter.

As Qbgrey says, check the fuel is coming through into the rail and to #1 injector.

 

If not i would check the start stop selanoid on the fuel pump, they can stick but its a right tw@t to get out and you will need to mod a tool up. More often than not its the wiring that goes and if i remember rightly its wired into MAF sensor on the air intake, just follow the wire up and you will see.

 

Failing that try direct feeding it with diesel from a pop bottle hung above the head. thats if its a fuel issue.

 

Is the battery fully charged? Its a big old lump of an engine to be half cranking with a flat battery. Seems trivial but that could be part of the problem

Had similar problem found fuel filter letting air in not sealing due to o ring try priming fuel filter on top and then see if starts is this a terrrano sport ????????? Iain
