Outlaw Pete 2,224
Yeah. Saw that. And they can't identify the type of dog? Not a bully type then? Akita? If so, it'll be swept under the carpet. Can't go giving KC Pedigree stuff a nasty name.
gnipper 6,461
It'll be a big 'pit type' that's been brought up bad by scumbags. Can't have been a nice way for the poor bloke to go.
Guest thebigdog
looked like a staff, according to the bbc report.
Nik_B 3,790
I know they're strong but for the size of them I find it hard to believe a pure bread Staff can kill a person Maybe I'm naive but the ones I come across are stocky but aren't very big and generally have a really nice temperament. Maybe its a cross with something much bigger and more powerful?

Poor bloke not a nice way to go at all, there are ticking timebombs of these sorts of dogs all over the country. I know one family who have to sit on the floor as there mastiff wont let them on the sofa !! Also know of a fella who cant put his collie on a lead becuase it will bite him ! My saluki hates the fecker and the bull x tries to avoid it, I think there should be some sort of licence or permit to keep a dog. I know it wouldnt totally stop dickheads owning dogs but it might save a few dogs. Atb

What a silly thing to say........kc or not, if a dog is dangerous then it's dangerous, unfortunately most of the young idiots i see with staffies have a kc registered dog!! Nik B...........some of the staffies i have come across are of fair size and could inflict a lot of damage or death to an elderly/small person, but i have personally never met a bad natured staff, they have all been lovely soft natured dogs, obviously this dog has been allowed to terrorize the neighbourhood by its idiot owners,.........poor elderly man rip http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-22672602

If he was frail then quite easily a staffy could pull him down and get a throat hold. If he wasn't I don't see how he couldn't get to a knife?? Very strange!!!
vixen 528
Ever thought that the elderly man could of had a heart attack with the fright???

Outlaw Pete 2,224
What a silly thing to say. You're quite right, Vixen. It was silly and was a knee jerk. Fact is, 'They' want the SBT added to the list of banned dogs.
Outlaw Pete 2,224
when I tried getting it off ,it turned on me. F**king hell!!! That's 'Unheard of'! I kept SBTs and Pit Bulls for years and years. Had my share of battles break out. But, I was absolutely Never concerned that one of my bulldogs would turn on me. Saying that?
