BORDERSCOT 3,816
The only down side to Hancocks is its his business and he hasn't the time to sit and socialise all the pups, so I wouldn't take on an older pup that he often gets stuck with. The only down side to Hancocks is its his business and he hasn't the time to sit and socialise all the pups, so I wouldn't take on an older pup that he often gets stuck with. yeah i'd agree with that . bet some of them 16 week old ones are a right pain in the a*se I'd agree with that BBB...I have been to Hancock's in the past and he must have had dozens of pups ready to go...and often quite a few at the 5-6 month mark...which haven't gone to homes yet...and there's no way those pups are socialised as well as they should be...my advice would be get them home as soon as possible... And Rob5230 you're bang on there...I've had 4 from Sutton Coldfield now, the Taffy and Richard pups were 8 weeks old when I brought them home and the Alex half x I have now was a couple o days short of 7 weeks old. However, the Kubla 3/4 bred was 16 weeks when he came to Scotland and from the start it was a total nightmare...just hadn't been socialised and that 8 -14 week window had been missed and it showed...suffered from severe separation anxiety...in the field the dog was everything you'd wish for and you wouldn't know he had psychological problems...and was shaping into a decent animal but he was basically impossible to live with...however, he was killed at 14 months old...tragic yeah but to be honest a huge breath of fresh air...the dog basically took over my life... Dan...had all the physical attributes but was let down by a lack of socialisation at a crucial stage... In direct contrast is the collie x greyhound which came to Scotland from Wales 3 weeks ago at 15 weeks of age...farm bred and reared...seen it all...well used to folk and all the goings on which happen daily on a farm...bold and outgoing this pup is as well balanced as I have ever seen... Iolo...well rounded, bold and confident with everything... 8 Quote Link to post

low plains drifter 10,530
it prob did come across as strange, like i said not knocking anyone but what meant was you here people slagging him off but lads and lasses still go to him so he must be doing something right People putting other people down to make themselves feel better is nothing new, dont understand it myself, nothing but a bunch of cod heads on here, keyboard mouchers the lot of you (us) 2 Quote Link to post
