Brewman 1,192
There was definitively more than 1500, maybe 1501 lol. You could easily see several thousand on the ground, good turnout What's the attitude like from the average copper when on the marches? Yesterday in Newcastle the Law were top drawer. You could see it in their faces they were supportive of what was going on. The Tide is Changing. If its like before there'll be a few ex squaddies in the lower ranks of the police so while they might have seen the EDL as pains in the arse before I'm sure their opinions have changed over the murder of Drummer Rigby. Im not sure who said it about keeping the protests peaceful but angry but do that and everyone will notice, they'll have to. Good work keep it up.

This image shows the word 'Islam' daubed on the Animals In War Memorial, but police are not sure if it was carried out by Muslim protesters or far-right groups trying to stir up trouble
WILF 46,981
Was there yesterday and id say it was around the 5k mark present. Great turn out WELL done the North East. Im On that vid just behind the 4 flags at about the 2min 50 odd mark. My pal had a big black beard on and he looks like a A rab lol Got to say, fair play.....not the tinny swilling mob I have seen on previous films......not a tinny in sight, well done you NE lads, the very fact that the people present chose to conduct a sensible march and not an away day piss up give you a lot of credibility IMHO

Photos of the EDL with words like aggresion, ugly protest, beer swigging while showing the other side very peaceful. Doesnt show them very peaceful on the video clip. Next time the police should just stand aside...
