I hate those rifles we had some in .22 and I trapped the skin of my hand in the fecker lol

. Back then they were space age The bullits were all wraped in greace proof paper helping the action

 

pig grease if I remember rightly , should bring back that type of ammo for the armed response units

The originals are in the museum at Brecon but the only copies of all the VC's and the citations are in the Sgts mess of my parent regiment ............

Fancy being faced with that lot coming over them hills,,, thousands of them,,,, must of been teryyfing....

 

I've traveled through natal South Africa ,,, and you can see all the regiment numbers on the hill sides,, all done in white rocks,,, and I was told that the local Zulus still look after the grave yards ect,,

 

Me brother in law ,, who lived out there for 20 years recons the Zulus ,,, always believe there better than the other natives,, but respect the British,,,,

 

Weather it's still the same I don't know

TOMO during the evacuation of rorkes drift by the remaining soldiers the Zulu army flanked the soldiers through other native territories to ensure they had safe passage such was their respect for the men they had been fighting ..........
