Many years ago, i lived in turkey. They had some fine salukis their and tazis. The ground some of them ran on, was unreal, as see below..    

ran my pure on mountians quarry bases etc feet are simply well designed to run anywhwere, never cut up at all, if they actualy where the garbage a good few seem to think how come they been pure bred f

would like to see one run on this ground. ,,,,

Someone was telling me that the hena also has a mild narcotic effect or something could this have something to do with why it is used???

never herd of thate mate it does have antiseptic propertys though ;)

Kurdish ...turkey

 

As a kid, i remember their use to be a good few around anatolia, not sure if their still is, this was back in the 70's.

My granfather use to go off on horse back and a couple of tazi salukis and hunt for a few days over mountain and rough scrub ground, he came back with roe, fox rabbit ect to feed the family and share the meat amongst friends. For boar, they would go out with a few of them and a few tazis. :thumbs:

those dogs in the pictures will be from around urfa toards the Syrian border mainly fox and hare ;)

I'm not 100% but apparently it can cause a mild euphoric high in humans bit like 10 coffees :laugh: I did know about the antiseptic and anagelsic properties though :thumbs:
