Big g I think a lurcher that gives his best and is well bred and has a good heart is the dog I like some like speed for are fields but I seen dogs with lots of speed there problem no heart,I think you need a dog with great heart and drive that will go through any gate any ditch any wire fence just want it more than anything will try there heart out and stays tight once they break the long ear that's what i like watching some just love speed I prefer a good dog with lot of heart these fast dogs tend to blow up after 2 to max 3 mins well thats what I think anyway

I'd say English fens are rough ground over here lOng hare has escape no matter what,half time you would not no if dog jacked as out of sight i think fens there is no where to hide from the sounds of things I think most dogs from Ireland would of jacked in England if jacked at all and it's there for everyone to see massive land no lies told lol

 

are the dogs bred and run here north n south bred differently to the English fen dogs for quicker acceleration in the smaller fields or does that not matter what ratios of different sight hounds works better in the different countries?

theres 1s called plodders do well on the fens but wont get a luk in in ireland ..horses for courses.

what cross is favoured over this side halfs or 3/4 grey 1/4 sal or would any or does anybody use whippet in the mix for the quicker acceleration Im usually after foxes totally different from you fellas, that's why im asking

seen a whip x grey deadly at them in tight fields.nowadays theres a touch of saluki in them in case the race goes on a bit .but imo a good dog shouldnt let the race go on to long .

Went last year good days drinking first iv been to in years they raced the lurchers on a sat last year think they showed them on the sat aswell don't know about this year brendy

True Micky but some people think 3 and 4 min are 6 and 7 min so there the races I am on about lol,put you need a good heart to stop them through gates that won't slow up and wire you no yourself can be ring a rosey were we hunt if dog slows up long ear is gone have to plough through that gate wire ditch whatever is in front or bye mister long ear
