tiger82 43
How many Jills would be able to live in a 6x2 x 30 inch high hutch? Maybe 2 or 3? Quote Link to post

tiger82 43
its fine saying build courts and stuff. but what happens when they need splitting up or you get a fighter you cant keep them running together then. does anybody have multi levels to keep some separate if so how big and do you have any pics? just wondering if to make a big cage or have separate hutches just in case. Just a matter of putting a floor in at 15" would double the floor space Y.I.S Leeview 2 Quote Link to post
tiger82 43
yes was thinking 4x2x2 double or even 6x2x2 double would be good. Quote Link to post
happyferret123 13
I personally don't think a four foot double story hutch is big enough for them, the more space the better. Quite a few people convert sheds, or buy chicken coops. At the moment I have two ferrets they have a 10ft double story hutch with Wheel and tubes, and certainly wouldn't half that amount of space. *my hutch can be separated into two 10 ft long hutches if I needed to separate and I have an indoor one if one is ill. A small hutch would be ok if you joined it to a larger run, but not by itself. Edited May 23, 2013 by happyferret123 Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
In a small run, they might be ok, but they must be pretty bored! I have my lot split between two runs at the moment. I have a half dozen jills, and currently a vac hob, in a 10 x4 x4 run. and they are ok, but I do feel its a little cramped, and would like to extend it. I have 4 hobs in a 6 x 4 x 3 run. brucemyster 75
I have a split level "rabbit hutch" connect by a piece of down pipe to an old wardrobe carcase, split into three sections, bottom section has food and shavings top two sections joined by flexi pipe and has tubes and play things in, all alterations, aviary mesh, flexi pipe, mineral felt and timber all recycled or free off freegle, total spend £15 (hutch and hinges) and two v happy jills Quote Link to post
