Melton Mowbray

Hi all, have heard about Melton Mowbray cattle market selling ferrets is it any good and what sort of price do you think they will be going for also what to look for in a ferret, buying from a market? I am new to ferreting and was thinking about having a drive there on Tuesday when it's on, thanks in advance for replys cheers gaz

A pound......flipping heck over the pond here the average price for a stinker is around €20-40......................good business if your in it for money, not my choice to breed them, never have and doubt i ever will.

Im not saying you wont get a decent ferret at a market you can, I bought a couple years ago from different breeders at the Lowther ferret tent, and both turned out to be good little workers.

but there will be lads on here that will work there ferrets, and you could see someone who has a decent working strain, with surplus near you, and i would go for these first.

But if you cant source any, then i would try the market.

Its too late now ,but you could of posted on here asking for a day out with local lads ,saw how they ferreted and if there ferrets did the business you could of booked a couple of kits from working stock . The why i see it now your throwing a dice and hoping to land a six good luck you wont know what your buying
