My bullx is 23tts heart of a lion and my uncles 72 said the best fox dog he has ever seen was a 19tt lurcher didnt know the breeding but was awesome on teeth

I was out yesterday with a salukibullgreyhound she singlehandedly found flushed cuaght and killed it with no help from human or canine. And to look at this bitch you would have to wonder why there are so many dogs that cant who wont kill them on there own. Atb

Fair play but imo bull x whips are hardly 200yrd slip merchants are they and some can't finish the job without help which was my point,I like bull x whips and the few that I've seen have done there job well but they have there limitations.

There'll always be exceptions to the rule though.

There's a lot of dogs that can't finish the job quickly without help, regardless of breeding. I don't mean a dog that's left to it's own devices and slowly chews away or has a throat hold for 5 minutes, I mean a dog that hits hard and shakes enough that by the time you get there, there's nothing for you to do.

dont waist your time,, theres no way a genuine bull/whippet 1/2 or 3/4 bred is catching and killing foxes single handed regular!! there just not physicaly built for regular fox work!!

quite suprised at this statement as there are plenty of 14" terriers that do it regularly.....the bull whippets ive seen look pretty handy but to be honest ive never seen one run..is there anyone out there with one who can shed light on their pre ban performances ??

I bet not many of them terriers would kill foxes regularly on top of the gound.Especially if they were already blowing like a small lurcher would be from a decent run.

 

i see your point elis, forgive my naiveness when i read the first few replys i interpreted it wrong and thaught they were saying that the bull whippet wasnt physically capable of killing foxes regular... i was thinking of around a hole and not running them in large fields...

Thats because 90% of Bull/Greyhounds are bred down from complete shit but the other 10% will be more than capable fox dogs but even the best Bull/Whippets will struggle to make competent fox dogs.
