reaper1064 285
Here goes. Sunday a mate comes round to see me and we get talking about shooting, and him being an ex Para wants a go. Now I have been shooting in my garden for over 6 years without incident and so sets up the knock down targets and away we go. After about 15 mins my missus says that the tosser who owns the guest house near us is at the door. I go to see him and he stands there stiff as a board and say's " Air gun, Garden, stop." So I give him the usual I'm legal as long as....... He says I'm calling the police and get them to come round. He then proceeds to tell me that last Friday a winged pigeon fell out of the sky and landed on his guests car. I told him that there were plenty of people in the area with air guns, and knowing what a cock he was does he think that I would put my guns at risk by dropping woodies in his garden. So last night I go for a shoot and when I get back my missus say's that the police had been round and would come back tomorrow night. So I am waiting and hoping that they don't take the dicks word and snatch my guns. Quote Link to post

Paid 935
Best of luck and make sure you only have the 1 air riffle in the house. 1 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I wouldn't worry too much mate. If they thought a firearms offence had been committed, they'd be back a bit sooner than 24 hours. That and no evidence. Quote Link to post
riohog 5,701
well if your air rifle isnt in the house they cant take it 2 Quote Link to post
fret78 87
good luck pal, just stay calm and don't start calling him names. Be the reasonable one. Let us know how you get on. 1 Quote Link to post
Paid 935
Also remember they will try to get you to convict your self, so just think before answering leading or in fact any questions. 1 Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
Say nothing... "The man holds a grudge over a parking issuse and he has made the whole thing up"... "He has seen you load a riffle into your boot and is a lettuce munching do gooder"... Edited May 21, 2013 by Giro Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Good luck mate.. Ps, I've moved this here to the air gun section, some of the lads here might be able to give you some advice based on previous experience.. Quote Link to post
Wullz 408
Boys sounds like a typical do gooder.....be reasonable with them and explain how you wouldnt be so daft as to fire at anything other than a target.... And, get a moderator! Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
Don't worry about it mate, just don't be arsey with them and make sure you come across as the responsible shooter that you are! Show them the targets and the back stop and show that you no the law about air guns in your garden. As has been said if they thought an offence had been committed they would of waited for you to get back or come to find you! Atb mate let us no how it goes Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
Are you an FAC/SGC holder? Or just airguns? Not that it should make a difference just that if you were then they've already decided you are a responsible person and the other dick is probably already well known to them as being a bit of a dick Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
If you are going to move your gun then make sure you move pellets etc too. Personally I would leave it unloaded in a safe location and explain that you zero your rifle in the garden and practice on targets with a safe backstop, targets do not leave your boundary and then you are within your right to do so. I zero my rifle down my hallway in the flat Quote Link to post
reaper1064 285
Thanks lads, just going to be honest and up front as I've got nothing to hide. I'm a BASC member so will give them a call if it gets sticky. Saying that I'm tempted to just show them my lads old .177 Crossman repeater, struggles to dent a tin can. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
It's all rubbish. I had a neighbour call the cops twice about shooting in my garden with my air rifle and nothing has come of it, except the second time the cops went to the neighbour to tell them to keep their nose out of my LEGAL business. Unless this neighbour of yours dissected the pigeon, extracted the pellet and it has your thumbprint on it, what evidence of anything is there? Don't give it a second thought mate. Quote Link to post
